Job Summary:

 

Broadcast Management Group (BMG) has an opening for a full-time production engineering position in our Las Vegas, Nevada office.  This position will report to BMG’s Vice President of Engineering.  The production engineer will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting broadcast equipment, assisting with integration projects, and working on remote production assignments as needed.  We are looking for a well-rounded production engineer who can assist in the creation of engineering signal flow synoptic diagrams and rack elevations. A complete understanding of broadcast and IT network technology is essential. The ideal candidate will also be able to serve as an EIC on productions, both with FlyPacks and OB trucks. Working independently at a high level is a requirement.  This position will assist the VP of Engineering with integration projects such as planned system upgrades, new facility design, equipment maintenance, and consult on future technical expansion for internal and external clients. This position will also support production staff as needed in studio and or remote productions.

 

Essential functions of the Production Engineer include, but are not limited to the following:

     Provide technical support for technical facilities within the production environment and ensure all equipment is running correctly on BMG client productions

·    Handle integration projects of both small and large scale

·    Be able to read, understand and develop broadcast engineering AutoCAD design drawings

·    Wiring systems including terminating video, audio, control and network cables

·    Work independently or with external vendors on integration projects and supporting equipment commissioning and training

·    Able to positively interface with clients and install teams

     Assist with planned system upgrades and expansion of BMG projects

     Perform customer equipment maintenance as needed, occasionally working outside of normal business work hours

 

Job Requirements

·   Minimum of 5 years of broadcast engineering experience

·   Knowledge of live production environments

·   Understanding of system integration techniques

·   Strong knowledge of IP Video systems

·   Strong work ethic and ability to work independently

·   Ability to work late shift and weekends as needed

·   Ability to travel for project-based assignments as needed

 

Additional Pluses

·   AutoCAD Certified

·   Knowledge of encoding for live programming

·   Knowledge of Dante’

·   Knowledge of NDI technology 

·   Knowledge of Satellite and fiber transmissions

·   Camera Set-Up and Video Camera Shading (V1)
